Shocking Recording Shows Point Police Are Stabbed in Unexpected Assault

The Two Senior Officers Moments Prior to the Aggressor Was Tasered

A police sergeant who jumped to the aid of a colleague that was assaulted by a blade-wielder received the King's Commendation for Valor.

Sergeant Tim Ansell fought with twenty-seven-year-old Jacob Brown following he held a weapon to the throat of his colleague Sergeant Marc Foster.

Brown launched his attack as the policemen and their third officer, PC Marcus Wolstencroft, were speaking to a driver subsequent to a traffic accident in that location in mid-2023.

Brown knifed and cut the two Sgt Ansell and Sgt Foster prior to PC Wolstencroft stunned him with a Taser.

"Officer stabbed," the officer was heard to say over his radio.

Officer-mounted and vehicle camera footage released by the force depicted Brown, that was clothed in black with a hood covering head, run up to Sergeant Foster from behind with a knife extended.

He ran into the officer who lost balance and fell to the pavement, before Sgt Ansell jumped in and tried to wrestle him to the ground although being multiple times hit with the knife.

PC Wolstencroft Stopped the Attacker, Jacob Brown, with a Taser

Police Constable Wolstencroft pulled his stun gun and waited for a clear shot, concluding the fight to an finish.

Sgt Ansell can be heard to say: "Can I get something on my throat now, I'm bleeding in the neck."

Sergeant Ansell suffered multiple lacerations to his throat and further injuries to his limbs and body, while Sergeant Foster experienced slash wounds.

The department reported Sgt Foster employed his hands to control his partner's bleeding before emergency responders arrived.

The latest recognition arrives after the trio of policemen won internal Valor Recognitions in October 2023 and the police federation award from the regional union branch in early 2024.

They further earned a Regional Courage Honor in summer 2024.

"The efforts of all three officers ultimately rescued themselves and resulted in no civilians experienced any harm."

Brown was sentenced to an indefinite hospital order in early 2024, as stated by the department.
